Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who served as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 to 2022. She is a part of the Democratic Party and previously served as the White House deputy Press Secretary (2009) as well as the White House deputy Communications Director (2009-2011) as well as the spokesperson for US Department of State (2013-15) and as the White House communications direct (2015-17). Psaki was an CNN political contributor between 2017 and 2020. Psaki's career started in 2001 when she worked in the reelection campaign of Tom Harkin, an Iowa Democrats running for the U.S. Senate. Psaki was later named the press secretary's assistant in John Kerry's 2004 presidential race. Psaki was communications director for Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, and regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2006. Psaki returned to politics in 2012, serving as the press secretary for President Obama's 2012 campaign. 20 Psaki resigned as spokesperson for United States Department of State, on February 11, 2013. There was speculation she would succeed Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary, at the Department of State.[21However, Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30, 2014. She returned to the White House in 2015 to be the director of communications. She remained with the Obama administration until its end.
